Do you know what folks see when they Google your firm? Are there client reviews? Are your meta titles standardized? Is your location claimed (if you have one)?
Here are a few *quick ways to get more out of Google:
- Spruce up your meta tags. Through whichever website creator/management platform you’re using, make sure your meta tags and descriptions are descriptive and standardized. For example, our meta titles are standardized to be “Page Name | Soraban.” Words included in both titles and descriptions should be right at the intersection of keywords that appear on the page & keywords that someone would type into Google.
- If you’re only starting to dabble in SEO optimization and keywords, check out Google’s Keyword Planner to identify relevant words and phrases to include.
- Set up on Google Business Profile. Are you set up on Google My Business? This is a free, easy way to become an official business in the eyes of Google. You’ll be able to customize all the business info web browsers see when they come across your business. Taking this measure also gives Google the critical info they need to display you when folks search certain keywords.
- Get some (glowing) Google reviews. A few things factor into your prominence in relevant Google searches – the most significant being the Business Profile we just mentioned. Also important are Google reviews. Consider incentivizing happy clients with a gift card or handwritten ‘Thank You’ note alongside your request for a Google Review... your top-notch service should be enough to have them racing to their laptops but sweetening the deal when asking for a favor never hurts.
